Former Montreal Custom House

Constructed between 1836 and 1838, the Former Montreal Custom House is a Nationwide Historic Site and was one of the last public buildings in Canada to employ the Palladian design style. It's a two-story stone building with sublime covers and detailing and is present in Old Montreal’s harbor area of the St. Lawrence Brook. This bulding was constructed for the purpose of being a customs center for all of the incoming goods and shipments that were going to and from the Great Lakes to Canada. This was also used to manage exported products to Europe.

Grey Nun’s Hospital

A real example of French Canadian design, this three-and-a-half story is the last surviving building of what was the 1st Grey Nuns Hosptial Complicated. Set up in 1738 by a young widow and 3 friends to look after the poor, the society received royal permit in 1753 and still operates shelters for the disabled, battered and needy girls with or without youngsters, and dispenses clothing and food. This place offers such a large amount of love and support to its community, and proves a good example of just what should be out there.

Marlborough Apartments

A real example of the Queen Anne Revival luxury residence style in the period 1870 to 1914, this red brick four-story building was built in 1900 and turned into a State Consequential Site in 1991. There's a stone foundation, a central arched door in a sculptured stone entrance, contrasts in textures and colours, ornamental iron rails, and ornamentation influenced by the Dutch.

A fave of the buildings in Montreal is this Art Deco exterior and interior theatre that was inaugurated in 1929, was enjoyed into the 1970s, but then closed its doors in the second 1980s. But constant adherents guaranteed the city of Outremont to keep going with reconstructing, and it re-opened in March, 2001 with terraced cosy seating, the stage area made bigger, and a roomy lobby. Today it is pleased to provide onstage music and comedy acts, films and also gives a fine location for local economy meetings.

Model City of Mount Royal

This home suburb was developed over 6 decades according to an extraordinary 1914 Town Stunning and Garden Town urban plan for quality design and a massive amount of green spaces.The Canadian Northwards Train line had wanted to build this model city, which was incorporated in 1912.
