Now that the Cubs have clinched their spot in the playoffs, I thought it was high time I gave a short review on why you need to go to Wrigley Field. Wrigley Field is one of those places you have to go once in your life, even if you don’t like baseball. Personally, I have been to Wrigley Field, I think, about 4 times. This last time was last Tuesday, right before they clinched.

Why should you visit Wrigley? The atmosphere alone makes it worth the trip. I have never seen such die hard fans (the only exception I make to this is Lambeau Field). Everyone was nice (even after Bill and I sat in the wrong seats). It doesn’t take much to get the crowd into the game either. All nine innings that Cubs were cheered for. We even have our own version of “Take Me Out To The Ballgame”, and I don’t think there was a soul in there who wasn’t singing. I don’t think there is a bad seat in the place either. Our tickets have been all over the stadium, and they were always good seats. You can also feel the history there. This is an old stadium, and it definitely has character.

I have only one complaint about Wrigley Field. The food stinks. We wanted to go to one of the restaurants inside, but they were closed to private parties, so we ended up eating from the concession stand. Ick and expensive.

It is great to be in a place with such team spirit. As we left the game, Cubs fans were still singing the “Go, Cubs, Go” song all the way down to the street. Now that they are in the playoffs, I can only imagine the atmosphere to get better and better.

Have you been to Wrigley Field? What was your experience like?

This last weekend I had the opportunity to stay in this wonderful hotel. The first thing I have to say is that we will definitely stay at another Country Inn & Suites again. The hotel is one of the best we have ever stayed in. First, they had cookies on their counter that the kids could have, so Madison was in love immediately. They let us check in early (we had come from a wedding), and without me telling them, put us right next door to my parents. It made my life ten times easier having them that close. They assigned us a room on the first floor, so it would be easier with the kids too. They have a 24 hour pool that was just the right temperature, and it was huge. They even had a whirlpool. To get into the pool area, you needed a key, so it was nice to know that everyone in there was staying at the hotel. You didn’t have to worry that people were just walking in and using the pool. They always had towels in there too, so we didn’t have to use our room towels. They were extremely helpful in taking a poopy diaper from me, so I didn’t have to leave it in my room overnight. They also had a list of restaurants and pizza places you could order from that would deliver with menus. All the rooms have wifi and the lobby also has a desktop you can use. I loved the room setup too. We were in a king suite, so we had plenty of room. Our room had a small kitchen area with a microwave and fridge. The king bed was in a separate area with a tv. We set the pack n play up there for Will. The bathroom was one of the biggest ones I’ve seen in a hotel in a while. Then there was the living room. It had a tv, table, and a couch. The couch pulled out into a queen size bed, and it was pretty comfortable too. They also have a continental breakfast which was awesome. We had toast, muffins, bagels, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, and Belgian waffles. Since checked wasn’t until noon (which is way awesome), we were able to take the kids swimming again before we left! The staff was extremely nice and helpful our entire stay.

If you are ever in the Appleton, Wisconsin, area, you should definitely stay at the Country Inn & Suites.
