45th Chicago International Film Festival

Audiences at the spectacular 45th Chicago International Film Festival October 8-21 will get a “Sneak Preview” of new work by the world’s boldest and brightest filmmakers and films that will be making waves next year and beyond.

Pushing boundaries at this year’s event will be films such as South Korea’s A Frozen Flower, France’s Bellamy and Henri Georges Clouzot’s Inferno, China’s Red Chill, Mexico’s Backyard, and, Romania’s Police, Adjective. From the U.S., catch Made in China, Motherhood, Chicago Overcoat, and more. And short films will include Cannes Critic’s Week favorite Logorama and the animated work Horn Dog.

In all, 150 films from more than 40 countries will be shown, and all screenings will take place at AMC River East 21.

Gala tributes, discussions by directors and stars, and other red carpet excitement will round out this two-week cinematic extravaganza. See the complete lineup of films and special activities.

Free Family Film Festival

img_freeFamilyFilmFestivalI am all over anything that is free and if you have a family, you will love this! Regal theatres has started the Free Family Film Festival. It’s a fun-filled nine weeks of movies for kids and parents.

Selected G & PG movies start at 10AM each Tuesday and Wednesday during the festival. First-come, first-served seating is limited to theatre capacity. The Free Family Film Festival is safe, lots of fun and a great way for kids to spend a weekday morning in the summer.

Tickets for our 2009 Free Family Film Festival are exclusively available at select theatres’ box office on the day of the show. Now, here are the movie theaters that are participating in IL. However, you can easily search by the state you live in.

This is a great way to keep your family entertained and happy this summer without putting a huge dent in your pocketbook!
