Top Queensland Destinations

Queensland is a province of Australia, in the northeast of the country. The capital city is Brisbane.

For those individuals who don’t know Queensland, it is marketed as the State where Australia shines. It is hot, bright and has (in my opinion) the best beaches in Australia.

I had a good idea of what people may suggest going into this story, however it had a few surprises. Here’s what everyone came up with and they can all be visited best by campervan hire Qld:

The Great Barrier Reef

No surprises that this came top of the list. The Great Barrier Reef stretching from Central Queensland on the Eastern Coast of Australia to Papua New Guinea is the largest living organism in the world. It’s a natural wonder of the Earth and famous for the fantastic thing about the coral and the creatures that live in it.

What was surprising was the superb techniques that were suggested to experience the reef. Snorkelling and diving were well-liked, as were copter rides above the reef so that you can actually gauge the size of this incredible place.

The Whitsundays

Brisbane, capital of Queensland, has its own unique experiences. There are only 3 bridge climbs in the world and one of them is on the Level Bridge in central Brisbane, which enables you to get a really unique view of this city. A short drive and boat ride from the CBD is Moreton Bay, a stunning water way and group of islands that offer camping, fishing, surfing, canoeing, sailing, diving and snorkelling at its best. No surprises here that it hit the Queensland bucket list.

The Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is a hugely popular holiday resort. It offer 26 kms of beaches with Surfers Paradise is classic for its party and fun way of life. The Gold Coast is also feted for its theme parks and these naturally hit the bucket list. Warner Brothers Mvie World, Sea World, Dream World, Wet n ‘ Wild, White Water World and Currumbin Wildlife Refuge offer a large range of rides and experiences for every age.

A less familiar part of the Gold Coast for visitors is Currumbin. This a truly popular surf spot for locals and when the tide is out the stream turns into a water wonderland. The most strange bucket list suggestion was going through the rock pools at Currumbin in the rain.

There are more than 70 very popular attractions in Margaret River and Southwest Australia. These places bring in thousands of tourists and locals every year. Heritage sites can be next on your listing. Ellensbrook is a heritage location that lies in the Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park. It was constructed in 1857 and became part of the National Trust in 1979. In contrast, Busselton Museum contains various memorabilia, photographs, old furniture, and clothes. The Heritage Butter Factorydescribes nearly 200 years of Busseton’s memoirs.

The famous Margaret River Farmer’s Market is another must-see place. It features fresh and regular produce. These markets are organized on Saturdays and provide you the chance to purchase cheese, meat, fruits, veggies and sweets directly from the producers. Popular names include Margaret River Bakery, Farmhouse Meats and Tapalinga Homestead Produce.

The A’mazen Margaret River Park features the gigantic hedge maze and sprawling property filled with smaller labyrinths, gardens, puzzles, and games. It took a total of 24 years to grow this amazing maze and maintenance is continuing. There are two around the clock gardeners who take care of pruning 7,500 square meters of hedges which can take nearly two months. The facility is open 365 days a year and holds group events on a regular basis.
