This is when tribes like the Lakota, the Arikara and the Sioux will come to hunt and sometimes live. The Badland has been home to humans for more than 11,000 years in accordance with historians. That makes this a very important historical site not only for the United States, but also for the continent generally.
This is such a rich and often overlooked park that you really must see if you’re an admirer of natural beauty. Here, also, the black-footed ferret is being released into the wild again – one of the most endangered mammal species on the continent.
