Lisa's Travels

Last week, my family and I attended the Chicago Boat, RV, and Outdoor Show. This is definitely the place to be if you are looking for boats or RVs or even campers. They seriously had something for everyone. We were looking for more on the camping side of things. I was hoping to find some campgrounds to check. On that end, I was a little disappointed.  There was all of one campground there, and they were in Wisconsin.  (However, since I got to talk to them, we’ll probably go camping there and check them out!).

My other concern/wonder about the show was whether or not they were really going to have things for kids to do.  They did!  If you want to take your kids to the show, please do!  We were able to:

Watch a presentation on snakes and reptiles (this snake was only a medium sized one!):

We got to watch the DockDogs (they would be jumping off the docks into water for races.  It was pretty cool):

The kids even got to fish:

The Coast Guard was there and the kids got to talk to this tugboat about water safety:

All in all, it was a great show to attend. I’d highly recommend going with or without kids!
