Holiday-Truth.com is a site geared towards regions frequented by Britain tourists. However, they still have a great selection of places you can check out before you book your room there. There are a lot of areas that us US travelers go to also. Searching in foreign contries is fairly easy. However, searching the United States is another story. Instead of being listed by location, its listed by hotel name. They even have a forum you can join! This is a must check out site before you go on vacation! (US wise, I had better luck in the forums).
Definitely a good resource. I like these smaller travel sites, they add a little extra uhmpf where the bigger ones like expedia/travelocity don’t.
You can usually get more referral info when using the forums too! and the info is probably more up to date. (Like if there is any construction going on in the area or not!)
Always a good idea to research your holiday before you book using one of these sites. I did a similar post to this myself recently. Love the layout of your blog Lisa.
That’s weird that you can’t search the US by location! It is a fairly popular destination for British tourists. The site sounds good otherwise though.
Lisa, not sure what you mean by hotels being difficult to find in the US. I had the hardest time finding places to stay when we recently went to Germany. It’s a big culture difference, I believe is part of the problem. Americans like Air conditioning and assume every hotel has it, for instance.
Not that we didn’t have a great trip, but it goes both ways on the difficulty, which is why Americans probably prefer to stay at chains rather than boutique hotels. They know Hilton, but not Mercure, or even independent hotels.
I like smaller travel sites too. It feels like there’s better customer service in them. Thanks for the info, I’m definitely going to look into Holiday Truth.
